Short and sweet (maybe). I’m reading The 10 Dumbest Things Christians Do, and I have ONE question for those who have professed Christ (and really, it’s not really something requiring an answer on MY end, but instead more of a charge for self-examination):
Are there any ways by word or by deed you’re slinging mud on the Bride of Christ, His church?
Think about it. Ask God to show you if there are. You may want to check the book out too (written by a pastor named Mark Atteberry), it’s worth it to keep “Christians” from causing people to reject Christ.

By forgetting that you were just like those outside the Church, if not for Jesus Christ.
It’s very easy to “be so filled with grace” that you forget what Christ took you out of, and look down on others.
Picking on doctrine of other denominations in front of non-believers definitely hurts the church image. There’s a time and a place to discuss the “nitty gritty” of doctrine. Among non-believers isn’t the place. They need to hear the heart of the Gospel!
I can think of one thing christians do….
Calling themselves SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE….
Oi….
Can you explain further what you are getting at here? Do you mean to say that the problem is using “Christianese” around non-believers? I mean, the Bible says that we ARE sinners and we ARE saved by grace.
I’m just looking for clarification. Thanks!
Good question, definitely worthy or reflection. It seems too often that churches are competing for numbers and in the process tearing other ministries/churches down.
