Chris Tomlin: Arriving

About four years ago, I was still in college and really getting excited about the things of God. I remember that I was listening to a Christian internet radio station in the school computer lab. They played a song called “Indescribable” by a man named Chris Tomlin.

So much of my walk with God back then was all about me…how I could ‘use’ God to get what I wanted out of life. But this “Indescribable” song hit me hard! The entire song is about looking around at the splendor of nature and standing in awe of the One who created everything. And even more amazing than His power, is the fact that this God knows the depths of our hearts but still loves us.

So, I went to Walmart that night and bought this CD with the spare change in my car’s ashtray (I didn’t have any other money). My spiritual life went to a new level when I decided to stop magnifying all of my little issues and magnify the God of the universe. And every song on this CD helped me do that. The first track on the CD in “Indescribable.” The second track, “Holy is the Lord,” is all about the earth being filled with the glory of our holy God. ”How Great is Our God,” is a song magnifying God for how amazing He is!

This CD was a part of a huge turning point in my walk with God and to this day, Chris Tomlin: Arriving is one of my favorite albums.
