I’M new on here

All I can really say is that God has been using me in a great way that I can feel his power, love, and mercy around me. These past couple of weeks have been as much fun as they have been challenging. I will say I go to a Christian school where, you would expect the kids there to be Christian. That’s just it, now a day’s parents are putting their kids in a Private School just to keep them out of trouble. The worst part is, is that when you get kicked out of Private school. NO Private school after that will accept you. Now I haven’t even come close to being kicked out, but I know a few kids that were kicked out. I don’t really know what to do on here, but hopefully God will speak through me on here.

Thanks, In God’s Love

Welcome to the site Anthony! I’m not surprised Christian school isn’t always so Christian. You’re there to be salt and light my friend! Be encouraged! God Bless.

Thanks Mister
Tell you the truth I find it really hard because I’m not the only Christian there, there are a few of us; but I am not ashamed to show it. I stand close to my Bible with the verse of Romans 1:16-17 I am NOT ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God and the salvation of all who believe first for the Jew and then for the Gentile. Today was fun, though my faith is being tested. I see this not by my sight, but by my faith do I realize what is really happening. Today an elderly woman asked if my father and I could spare some change for her so she could get something to eat. Though at first we said No. I thought of the verse in the Bible that says “You did not clothe me when I was naked, you did not feed me when I was hungry.” I thought of this and said to myself “Jesus lives in that lady and I’m to give her money so she can eat.” So I did the right thing and sure enough she was eating a burger like she said. Now in all cases I do not do this, but it was just that at that moment the verse hit me.
Thanks

Hi Jesus Freak,

I teach at a Christian school, and I know exactly what you mean. The environment is – in some ways – more challenging than a public school. At a public school your friends know you’re a Christian, and you know they’re not. At a Christian school there are many who profess Christ but whose actions do not attest to the same.

It’s hard. The same worldly conversations and peer pressures exist. It’s a matter of rising above and setting a godly example for the other students. You can’t be satisfied with just a mediocre relationship with Christ. You have to keep Him real and keep Him in all your conversations and thoughts. It takes a conscious effort. It’s easy to just let the atmosphere of the school give you spiritual highs now and then. But to really claim your faith is challenging.

Be encouraged. You can be an example to those around you. Cling to the cross, and don’t let go. Don’t depend on your surroundings to keep you accountable in your faith. Be intentional about seeking the Lord daily on your own. Don’t rely on school or teachers or peers to lift you up. If you have encouraging relationships in the Lord, that’s awesome, but don’t let that be the only spiritual food you get.

Hope this helps. :) Welcome to RenewedCulture :) I am new too! I love it so far!!

Well Mrs. or Ms. Kim I would like to take the opportunity to thank you. I would also like to say that, everything you just said is true. I do try to set the example that I am supposed to be. Recently I was talking to a student. Asking her “Why does everyone hate me?” she responded by saying she doesn’t hate me. Again I asked “Why is that?” She told me that she doesn’t hate me because I’m different. That I’m the type of Christian she wish she could be. I told her that she could become like me with my help, and the help of God. Yet she has decided not to do it. She also said that she is glad that I am not afraid to be Christian, to be different from the other kids. She said that the reason others may treat me in a mean way is because of who I am. I am a child of God. I am kind, loving, caring, compassionate, and so much more. I realize that it is because of my love for Christ that they treat me like that. For in the Bible it says in John 15:18 “”If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” I realize that they don’t hate me for me. They hate me because I am not like them. I am a living, breathing example of the love of God. Please keep in touch.
