Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!!  What are your plans for Christmas this year?  I know many buy gifts and spend time with family…and that’s really nice.  Some people party and get wasted to celebrate Christmas.  Others have their own holiday traditions.  We should all take a second to evaluate what we are celebrating.

This day isn’t just about a cute little baby in a manger.  But rather the all-power Creator of the universe…the Everlasting Father…the Almighty God putting on human flesh and dwelling among us (John 1:14).  I’m talking about the God who created everything we know just by speaking (Gen 1)…The One who created the universe and knows each star by name (Isaiah 40:26)…The God who was, is , and is to come!  This infinite God made Himself finite, the invisible One made Himself visible (Colossians 1:15).  Why?  He did it for us (John 3:16, Isaiah 53:5, Colossians 1:20).

So take a moment this Christmas season, to stand in awe of our amazing God who  stepped out of eternity into time to be Immanuel, God With US ( Matthew 1:23).  Merry CHRISTmas!

Colossians 1:15-20

Thanks Carl! To often people get caught up in the traditions and commericalism of the Christmas season, even the saying “Jesus is the reason for the season” gets repeated so often that it doesnt really get dwelled upon and sink in. We need to recognize and remember why we celebrate, and to who gets the credit.
