I said goodbye to her once a long time ago. It is done and over with; I went my way and she went hers. Even though she was a big part of my life for so long and I deeply loved her, I doubt that our paths will cross again. She is missed and will be missed, but it is what it is and she had her chance.

Through thick and thin,

I was there for you.

When support for you faltered,

And your own family laughed at you,

It was I who stood by you.

I listened to your tear filled sorrows late at night.

Mine was the shoulder you cried on.

When you needed help,

It was I that you called.

When you said to me, “I can’t do, I can’t go on.”

I motivated you and showed you that you could.

When you stepped out on that ledge,

to take your own life.

It was I whom went out there with you,

To bring you back with bands of love.

I held nothing from you.

All that I had was also yours.

And I loved you.

But you thought otherwise.

I was just a step in your latter,

on your way to riches you will never have.

Your dreams of wealth poisoned you,

And you closed your mind to reason.

You cared nothing for me

I was good enough to drag you from the pit,

and to save your life,

But I was not good enough to love.

Because, “God has better,” you said,

You looked at the wallet instead of the heart,

And mine wasn’t big enough.

So you threw me away,

And away I went.

You traded diamonds and rubies,

for fools gold.

You had it all, All you ever wanted,

But you threw it away,

And now you have nothing.
