In Matthew 6:21 (NIV) Jesus says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Contrast this with the fervent flurry of “Black Friday” and the blitz of adds for everything from the newest smartphone which can do everything, save to scratch my back and tell me i’m handsome, to the Lexus that should be sitting in my driveway.
Jesus tells us simply and lived it even better: God is our treasure, His love our most wonderful possesion.
We are called dearly loved children and called to leave the things of rust and insecurity behind and live into the passion that God’s holy heart is glad to share with us, which is to make our way fearlessly and exclamatorily toward His ever advancing Kingdom.
My treasure is in the arms of my Father, God, since I am His forgiven, dearly loved, passion-endued child.
Where is your treasure today? Does its embrace prevent you from falling into the arms of your Father God?

So true, I wrote something very sumiliar to thus posting around thanksgiving, but it cannot be said enough. It’s something that people needed to be reminded off regularly as we live in such a materialistic society.
