1. When you say the Bible is “God’s Word,” what do you mean by that phrase?
2. What does the Bible say that it is?
3. Is there anything else besides the Bible that you’d consider to be “God’s Word?”

  • In your responses, please number your answers to the questions. Also, try to keep them mildly brief. I understand that each question could require a book-length answer and we’ll be gracious and strive not to nit-pick your answers….
  • Pretend you’re explaining this to a person who has ZERO previous experience with religion.

1.) The Bible is called God’s Word because it is the written revelation of God, written by God to mankind. It reveals the origin and condition of man, and God’s redemptive plan to restore mankind back to Himself through Jesus Christ.
2.) All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
3.) Short answer: Nope. The Bible is complete…it’s all we need.
